This presentation introduces a holistic approach to Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) design in electric motors, addressing the increasing challenges associated with enhanced power density and integration in modern e-motors. It emphasizes bridging disciplinary gaps between electromagnetic (eMag) and NVH engineering to develop optimized solutions. Key topics include NVH basics for electric motors, electromagnetic force analysis, and system-level transfer path assessments. A multiphysics strategy integrating simulation, testing, and optimization is proposed to ensure comprehensive NVH solutions while maintaining performance, cost, and weight targets. The proposed framework demonstrates how diagnostic tools and a system-level perspective can enable tailored designs, ultimately achieving quieter, high-performing electric motors.
